Audrain County Traffic Court Records
Traffic cases in Audrain County split into two streams. State and county tickets land in Circuit Court. Municipal ordinance tickets go to a Municipal Division of that same court. Each court file holds the citation details, docket entries, and the setting. It also holds the judgment and any final action taken. Missouri Case.net covers public case information statewide. The Audrain Circuit Clerk handles the local record and can confirm what you find.
The issuing authority named on the citation tells you the division. Mexico and Vandalia run their own city courts. Tickets from Farber, Martinsburg, Laddonia, Rush Hill, Benton City, and Vandiver Village are filed at the Audrain courthouse. No separate justice-of-the-peace traffic docket exists in the official listings.
Audrain Traffic Clerk and Divisions
For state or county tickets, the Audrain criminal/traffic desk is your direct line to a clerk. Courtney Shaw staffs it. The desk sits at 573-473-5852, Room 204, Audrain County Courthouse, 101 N Jefferson Street, Mexico, Missouri 65265. Call when a citation does not show up in the public search. Call also if the division is unclear or you need a copy of the file.
Local municipal questions go through Mexico and Vandalia court routes. For any other courthouse-held municipal division, use the Circuit Clerk. Clerks will explain procedure, location, and record access, but they cannot give legal advice.
When you call about an Audrain citation, have the citation number, case number, and court date ready. Give Courtney Shaw those details along with your record request.

Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Begin with Missouri Case.net and the citation or case number printed on the ticket. A uniform citation number sometimes works as an alternate identifier if the system accepts it. No number handy? Run a Litigant Name Search, narrow the results to Audrain or the 12th Circuit where that option appears, and pick a traffic, infraction, or municipal category if one is shown.
- Read the citation or summons for the court, case number, uniform citation number, appearance instruction, and issued date.
- Search the exact case number or citation number in Case.net, preserving the returned format for later clerk contact.
- If the number does not resolve, run a name search, use reasonable spelling variations, and narrow to Audrain or expand statewide as needed.
- Check the Case Header and Docket Entries, then use Scheduled Hearings & Trials for an upcoming date rather than relying on an older setting entry.
- Call the issuing division or the Audrain traffic desk, or visit the clerk counter, when the ticket is new, unclear, municipal, security-limited, or not displayed.
Case.net is where Mexico's municipal page points for ticket payment and case information. Treat it as a starting point, not a full docket database.
Audrain Case.net Citation Fields
Case.net gives you several ways to pull up a traffic file. Its controls are dynamic, so the labels can shift from visit to visit. Search by case number, citation, party name, or filing date. A calendar search adds the court and the date. If the citation has not been entered yet, ask the clerk for the lawful route to the record. Do the same if access is limited.
Once a result appears, note the case number. You will need it when you contact the clerk.
| Portal or path | Field | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Case Number Search | Case or uniform citation number | Use the exact printed number first. |
| Litigant Name Search | Last name, with first or middle name optional | Search the cited person as a party. |
| Court filter | Court, county, or circuit | Select Audrain or the 12th Circuit when available. |
| Case-type filter | TR, IN, municipal, or related category | Use the classification shown by the current interface. |
| Scheduled Hearings & Trials | Date, court, and single-day or seven-day period | Check an upcoming setting here. |
A Case.net result can show the case header, docket entries, settings, and disposition fields. But a result does not guarantee remote document access. When a public item will not open, use the courthouse terminal or ask the clerk.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
Your traffic court date may show up in three places. These are the citation, the Case.net docket, and the Scheduled Hearings & Trials calendar. A setting or continuance entry records an event that was placed or moved, nothing more. The current calendar is the better online cross-check. But a summons, a court order, or a clerk-confirmed setting controls. Watch out for one trap. A "hearing held" entry is history, not a future date.
Compare the newest docket entry against the current calendar. If the case shows a reset, an old date, or no courtroom, call the clerk. Mexico posts a public schedule, but treat it only as a clue. The other municipal divisions publish no daily calendar.
| Citation or case number | Use the exact number from the ticket or returned record. Missouri traffic categories can appear as TR or IN; copy the full returned format rather than inventing punctuation. |
|---|---|
| Court or division | Identify the Audrain Circuit Court traffic route or the issuing municipal division before calling or appearing. |
| Date and time | Read the current Scheduled Hearings & Trials result with the citation or summons. A reset can leave an earlier date in the docket history. |
| Courtroom or location | Use the displayed location and confirm it with the court if a municipal division or current setting is unclear. |
| Status | Pending, continued, disposed, and warrant or failure-to-appear entries describe case activity; they do not replace direct confirmation. |
Audrain Traffic Ticket Search Follow-Up
An Audrain citation that will not resolve in Case.net can mean several things. The ticket may be new. It may be filed under a different public identifier, municipal, older, or limited for security reasons. Keep the citation and any summons. Then call the issuing division or the Audrain criminal and traffic desk with the number, party name, date, and court you know about. One caution: a missing result does not mean the ticket was dismissed. It also does not mean your duty to appear has changed.
For a municipal case, name the issuing city when you call. Mexico and Vandalia have city-held contacts. Several other municipal divisions use the Audrain courthouse route. The clerk can explain how to reach the record and where the court now sits. The clerk will not tell you how to handle the ticket. That decision is yours.
Before you dial, gather the case number, party name, date, and issuing city. The clerk will need all of it.
Audrain Municipal Traffic Routes
Mexico Municipal Court sits on the third floor of City Hall, 300 N Coal, and its official page lists court on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. Call 573-581-2100 ext. 247 to confirm a case. Vandalia's state-listed route is 200 E Park Street, with 573-594-6186. Contact that court directly for its hours.
The routes differ across Audrain County. Mexico and Vandalia hold their own contacts, while other divisions run through the Audrain courthouse. Match your ticket to its issuing city and court route before you make the call.
| Traffic source | Audrain court route | What is documented |
|---|---|---|
| State or county traffic case | Case.net and the Audrain criminal/traffic clerk | Room 204 route and Courtney Shaw's direct traffic line. |
| Mexico ordinance case | Mexico Municipal Court, Case.net, and municipal clerk | City Hall courtroom and Violations Bureau information. |
| Vandalia ordinance case | Case.net plus Vandalia city or municipal route | City contact route; no public docket or daily calendar located. |
| Other municipal divisions | Case.net and Circuit Clerk | State directory places these divisions at the Audrain courthouse. |
Two routes cover an Audrain traffic ticket. Check the Mexico Municipal Court page for city matters, or browse the Missouri municipal-division directory to find the right court. Your citation and the authority that issued it decide which one handles the case.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Start with the ticket itself, since the summons tells you how to respond. Under Rule 37.49, a municipal court can order a Violations Bureau. The Bureau handles certain listed ordinance violations, including some traffic matters. That is how Mexico's Municipal Court operates. If your citation qualifies, you need never appear. Pay the clerk or mail in the fine. The court's order, though, sets which offenses are eligible. It also sets what the fine and cost will be.
The other Audrain municipal divisions publish no comparable payment or contest steps. Do not guess. Read the citation and call the issuing division or the Circuit Clerk instead. One more caution applies. If a court appearance is required, paying will not get you out of it.
| Pay an eligible citation | Contest or appear |
|---|---|
| Use only the route and eligibility stated by the issuing court, citation, or Mexico Violations Bureau order. | Follow the summons or court instruction for the required response and setting. |
| Confirm the exact case, eligible offense, fine, cost, and response method before completing payment. | Use the clerk to confirm the court, date, location, and status when the citation is unclear or the public record is incomplete. |
| Keep the citation number and court confirmation as the case reference. | Track the case through Case.net and the clerk, because a setting can be continued or reset. |
Audrain Mexico Violations Bureau Limits
A Violations Bureau in Mexico exists only by court order. It is not a standing option for every city ticket. The municipal page links to payment information. Eligibility still turns on your citation and that order. When a payment link does not identify the case, call the Mexico clerk. Do the same if the ticket demands an appearance, before sending money.
Keep the city page in perspective. It is not the full traffic docket. For case history and record access, two channels count. Case.net and the Circuit Clerk remain the ones that matter.
So treat Mexico's Violations Bureau as one municipal route in Audrain, not a rule that covers every citation. Your ticket, the court order, the clerk, and the case record confirm whether payment applies.
Note: The posted fine schedule and Violations Bureau description are general court information. They never replace an individual summons or court order.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
A traffic ticket creates two separate records. The Audrain Circuit Clerk or the issuing Municipal Division holds the court file. That file holds the citation, docket events, settings, judgments, and every other court action. The Missouri Department of Revenue Driver License Bureau keeps a different record altogether. That driver file receives conviction reporting from the courts. DOR rules plus the Driver's Privacy Protection Act control who may see it. One case, two offices.
| Question | Traffic court record | Missouri driver record |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Audrain Circuit Clerk or the issuing municipal division of Circuit Court. | Missouri Department of Revenue Driver License Bureau. |
| Purpose | Shows the court case, citation, calendar activity, disposition, and court orders. | Shows state licensing history and conviction-reporting information subject to DOR access rules. |
| Access route | Case.net, courthouse public terminal, the court, or the clerk for a public court record. | DOR's own license-office, MyDMV, or consent and access channels, not Case.net. |
The Missouri DOR driver-record page covers that separate state file. It does not convert a traffic-court lookup into a driver-history search.
Need a court date, a disposition, or a filed traffic document? Start with the court case and its clerk.
Audrain Failure-to-Appear Route
Miss a court date on a moving violation. Consequences can follow on two fronts. The court may act, and DOR may get notified. What actually happens depends on the case, the notice, and your compliance history. Call the court about the citation, any warrant, appearances, payments, or your compliance record. Ask DOR separately about driving-privilege action or reinstatement.
An Audrain failure-to-appear question starts with the Audrain court case, the citation, the warrant status, and the compliance record. The court side and the DOR side sit with different custodians. Each needs its own confirmation.
Do not rely on an old search result: A current warrant or failure-to-appear status must be confirmed through the issuing court. Laddonia's Chapter 125 says failure to attend after summons or bond, or failure to obey a probation condition, may also be contempt, but that local code language is not a rule for every Audrain municipality. Later compliance may still require court reporting and DOR processing.
The DOR traffic-information page speaks only to the state side of that split. The court docket is still where you verify the traffic case itself.
For any case-specific failure-to-appear question, call the court first.
Copies and Fees
Audrain publishes no current prices for a certified traffic docket copy, a citation copy, search time, document images, or transcripts. Do not quote a total fine or a local copy fee from a citation, a city code, or a statewide schedule. Call the issuing court or the Circuit Clerk with the exact case and item instead.
| Item | Published fee or status | Request note |
|---|---|---|
| Plain paper court-record copy | RSMo ยง610.026 provides a $0.10-per-page ceiling for paper no larger than 9 by 14 inches, plus allowed costs. | Confirm the court's application with the clerk. |
| Certified traffic docket or judgment | Audrain-specific amount not published. | Name the case, document, certification type, and delivery method. |
| Laddonia municipal code costs | Chapter 125 lists $15 court costs and stated components in some circumstances. | Not a calculation or quotation for a citation. |
The DOR court-reporting page adds context on the state record only. It gives no Audrain court-copy fee and no payment amount.
Get any fee or payment amount from the court record, the citation, or the issuing division. That is the only reliable source.
Audrain Municipal Case Codes
Missouri case categories help you tell a traffic matter from another municipal issue. TR marks traffic and IN marks an infraction. Some municipal subcodes use MT for traffic. MO marks another ordinance matter. Treat these labels as search aids, not substitutes for the complete case number.
In an Audrain Case.net search, the codes help classify a traffic or municipal record. A result tagged TR, IN, MT, or MO still needs its full Audrain case number. Only then does it mean much.
- Docket entry
- A dated line in the court's register that records a filing, setting, disposition, or court action.
- Continuance or reset
- A setting that moved; the prior date may remain in the case history while the current calendar shows a later date.
- DCERT
- An official municipal JIS label for a certified-record or trial-de-novo pathway to Circuit Court; ask the clerk how it applies to a particular case.
A trial de novo can move a certified municipal record into Circuit Court. When the clerk points you there, keep both case numbers handy.
